A dream becomes reality for Evander Holyfield as he gets his chance to represent the United States in the 1984 Olymics. Holyfield brings home the bronze medal after receiving a controversial call for hitting New Zealand's Kevin Barry after a verbal break by the referee in the semi-round.

Holyfield goes professional on November 5th with a 6 round decision over Lionell Byarm.

With an amateur record of 24-3, Tyson sets out for the Olympics. Unfortunately two controversial losses to Henry Tillman spoil his chances and Tyson does not get his chance to compete.
